Monica Schroeder leads Build Change’s external affairs strategy as the Vice President of Global Engagement, driving impactful advocacy and communications, as well as building and nurturing partnerships with philanthropic and corporate partners to amplify resilient housing globally. She previously served as Build Change’s Director of Global Advocacy, where she played an instrumental role in integrating resilient housing into key climate and urban agendas in partnership with the UN High Level Champions, G7, and the World Economic Forum, among others.
Prior to her tenure at Build Change, Monica led the implementation of democracy and governance programs across 15 countries. She provided strategic counsel to nonprofit organizations, guiding them in the development and execution of impactful advocacy campaigns addressing critical issues such as environmental degradation, corruption, electoral integrity, and women’s empowerment in politics. Monica’s initiatives have driven policy reforms toward fostering inclusive, sustainable, and just societies at various levels, from grassroots initiatives to nationwide legislation.

Dive deeper into “loving the problem” with three distinct issue-area tracks: Disaster Mitigation, Homelessness, and Food Insecurity. The morning sessions will provide an overview of the State of the Field by experts for each issue, followed by a session highlighting innovations in social impact work currently underway, and will conclude with a session on the impact of integrating faith into social-problem-solving approaches.
